Instead get a Fox 40 Sonik Blast Whistle which has a loudness rating of 120 decibels.

We got a self-defence program in high school PE, but the one thing I always remember learning is the majority of times women who carry these types of weapons actually get attacked, the items are used against them. The takeaway was that it was best to use your techniques with your own body parts.
