  1. All these personal alarm products are such a load of 💩 Even at 120 decibels, it’s NOT going to shock an attacker into simply running away. Truck drivers, like me, use an alarm clock called the “Screaming Meanie”…. It has 3 settings: 60, 80, 120 decibel. I OFTEN use the 120 decibel setting, and BELIEVE ME, in an enclosed vehicle, it’s loud. But, in an open parking lot, it’ll be USELESS! The ads promoting these items, fooling vulnerable people (seniors, disabled, women) into believing that such a device will (hopefully) immediately scare an attacker away is not only RECKLESS but also DANGEROUS!!! Besides, if I were to attack you, and you activate the key chain alarm, I’m simply going to overpower you, take it from you, throw it as far as I can, then anyone looking will be looking in an opposite direction, while you’ve provided me (the attacker) with the perfect distraction for me. Besides, car alarms go off all the time! How many times have you heard a car alarm go off, and actually went to check the vehicle?? NEVER! And, you have to be a special kind of stupid to believe a key chain led light is going to “blind” an attacker 😂 The manufacturers of such useless garbage products like this have a target audience, being naive, easily frightened, vulnerable people who are too intimidated (or anti-2A) by the idea of protecting themselves with a weapon, lethal or non-lethal. FORGET THIS GARBAGE! BUY A KEYCHAIN CANISTER OF BEAR SPRAY AND I’LL GUARANTEE YOU’LL SEND AN ATTACKER RUNNING, SCREAMING AS LOUD AS THIS “PERSONAL PROTECTION” TOY!

  2. FYI, just bought a birdie plus and the location notification is inoperable. ShesBirdie states they hope to have it fixed eventually. Do not purchase if you are hoping for the location notification option. ShesBirdie is not sure when it will be operational. Beware as the website states it is operational

  3. The birdie design is good for simplicity and ease of use. A beltclip or armband to keep the alarm on your person, so you can throw away the trigger clip and not throw the alarm. The sound is fairly unique, could include an additional 'Help!' sound byte.

  4. I appreciate your video and the information. Came here just to see what the Birdie one sounds like. Something else to consider is that parents who want to give one to their kid(s) for school – a school would not allow the "weapon" one so the Birdie might be a better choice for parents of school age kids.

  5. True no one in a neighborhood or at a distance will pay attention as car alarms go off all the time BUT…..if one is hiking this might work to scare off a bear or couger or will help locate someone in need. If worn by a child then that child can pull their alarm if scared and any parent who knows their kid has an alarm will be alerted. Plus that noise going off in the middle of a crowded playground, fair, mall, grocery store, etc wil grab the attention of everyone standing near it. Would work for young or old if they are lost or confused.
