  1. To make it more comfortable you can use some heat shrink tubing of the kind used to seal electric cables connection…it comes in different size so you can keep adding layers until you don’t feel comfortable

  2. I'm a huge fan of Sparrows gear. The picks with the black rubberized handles are probably the most comfortable I've used.
Maybe try a few layers of heat shrink on the handles of yours, or try holding the pick handle in the palm of your hand with your index finger resting on the pick shank.

And if you want a challenge try the Godrej dual access padlock or the Herculoc.🙂

  3. You could wrap the handle easily or add wooden scales if you're into woodworking like I am. I ordered these specifically so I could customize the handles for myself

  4. I just ordered we red the genesis set earlier today! Can't wait to get them in the mail! Was 4.something for priority shipping (2 business days) and 19 fpr the kit. 24.76 total with 2 day shipping.

  5. Great to see more women lockpickers!! I started 2 years ago and have been using homemade picks and finally ordered the genesis set to improve my skill level ( I hope)
to move on to more challenging locks. Thanks for sharing about the pick set and happy picking!

  6. I have this set. Shrink tubing is your friend for making any all-metal picks more comfortable. You can get plastic and rubber dips for tools, too, but it's messier and takes longer.

I wasn't overly impressed with the strength of the metal. While they are probably better than a lot of the cheap chinese sets, they do seem to bend and stay bent significantly easier than both Peterson and Sparrows picks and bending them back makes them even softer. The SFF genesis set for the covert companion seem to be using the same metal and process as the full size genesis set as it also bends easier than I'd have expected.

I do quite like the z wipers but I wouldn't mind a 45 thou (halfway between the 50 blue and 40 white) and I'm probably going to add serrations to mine. I find the Peterson-style pry bars often stay in better because of the serrations but they get in my way sometimes because of the much larger bend radius.
