  1. Comparing an athletic, sport based draw in a safe range environment where you’re not faced with an immediate deadly force threat to a spontaneous deadly force threat at 3:00 am by multiple armed subjects while you’ve most likely been drinking with your buddies is an unfair comparison. On top of that The defensive reaction cycle is 1) perception 2) evaluate 3) response and takes time (even if it is 2.5 seconds . It’s important to understand that even though you may have a fast draw athletically, in a real world event you’re only as fast as you can accurately perceive & evaluate (and ultimately respond with the appropriate level of force and proper tactics). That process is impacted further by the fact that in a survival stress moment you’re not processing with your forebrain. You are hijacked by your mid brain (sometimes referred to as your reptilian brain) and the amygdala which initiates a number of physiological responses that can impact performance. So although we should obviously practice improving our draw time it is even more important to participate in realistic scenario based training to improve our perception speed, our evaluation speed and our tactical response.

  2. very unusual that robbers are going in a house with three men wide awake. seems like there could be more going on here tho I could be wrong. crime has definitely gotten bolder and more ruthless.

  3. Kinda looks more like the guys buddy in the blue shirt was the one shooting the guy in red in the face. Very tough situation the intruder was essentially using the homeowner for cover.

  4. I was born in 1963. I used to walk to school alone at a mile from the house without parents or busses at the age of 8.

I do not recognize the world today. I am 61 years old now and I do not want a gun or fighting skills.

I wouldn't walk my dog after dark. I hate this world. I want God's Kingdom. And I want it now.

  5. Those were two white guys. They were there for something specific. As a South African, we know how things work around here. And the fact that it happened in Klerksdorp. That's Willem and Gerrit and they are most likely known to these guys.

By the way I don't think John noticed the negligent discharge at the end of the video. The bullet jumped off the ground and hit the wall near the swimming pool.

  6. Hry John, it's a minor thing (just for me I guess) but why say maybe pass this video since its "serious* ya know? While i do appreciate you wanring people of kore distrubing videos , i dont see any reason for one on this such video. While what happened is serious in this video, its no more so than let's say the recent baltimore ine of that guy the police killed and you guys had /already had blurred. Idk … I dont mind seeing fucked up shit. It helps me as a defender,if not teach me / me koyre self aware. These kind of videos dont need ba warning whatsoever is all im saying . (:

  7. We always lock our doors the second we’re inside and we’re in a low crime area. Had someone try walking in our house one time and now my wife is even more paranoid now. It’s always locked even in broad daylight and even if we’re just walking out to get the mail or take out a trash bag. Not risking someone walking in an unlocked door behind us.
