I got 2 new aftermarket FOBIKs for this 2014 Ram 1500.

  1. I did use Xtool like Ivan did to program key on Dodge 2018 but unfortunately it failed. It apparently only support model below 2017 if i remember it right or I did something wrong, but it's a great tool.

  2. I love your videos i think your expertise in vehicle diagnostics is top notch i learn a lot from you. I saw the Trump sign 😢 i gave you a pass with that we live in a great country with 2 party system we need to try to understand each other but come on Ivan, Mastriano????? Lol btw im in Pa too

  3. What I have been able to do with some of these RFID keys is wrap the new (cut) key's head in tinfoil and tape (or hold) the old key up against it, stick the new one in the ignition, start the car, then remove the old key and tin foil and go ahead and program the new key to be recognized by the car. Not sure how this would work with one like this where the RFID chip is right in the tip of the key fob where you stick it into the ignition. Also, something like this one might be able to solder swap the RFID chip from the old key to the new.

  4. Interesting that my expensive Pros scanner won’t auto ID my 2004 Ram 1500 5.7L. Xtool D8 would not either, I sent that one back. My cheap little Actron scanner Auto IDs it just fine. I did download the Dodge updates.

  5. It's great you could fix the problem for the customer but I'm not so sure it is a great thing that anyone with just the Xtool and a blank key from Amazon can bypass the immobilizer of the vehicle that easy?! I mean that's Mickey Mouse security right?

  6. amazing tool the 👍 I wonder if can it work on early 2000s nissan man the older nissan cars the Toshiba ECU is a nightmare to scan to program a key or even a simple throttle body program

  7. Great Video as usual Ivan, I used to be a bit of an Autel Evangelist and use various Autel tools for the Workshop. Since discovering Xtool, I now have a D9s Pro and can do all the functions of the dealers and more. Add the Xtool KC501 to your Xtool kit and you now have the ability to do all keys lost and key simulations as well as programming eproms etc. For testing of key fobs and wireless remotes, be sure to keep an Autel KM100 handy. Nothing to date beats it for price and function as it is also a key programmer.

  8. I just wonder whats wrong with a basic phisical key that combats water, rust, does not hault the car if it needs a new battery, and does not require programming that instill nervousness, and most of all, physical key is not hackable from a far away code grabbing thief. Take care you all.

  9. I was able to program additional, Amazon sourced fobik keys for a Dodge Grand Caravan using AlfaOBD on my laptop. It did work just fine, until my WINS and Wireless Control Module died. So it is possible. And AlfaOBD (for FCA stuff only) is only about $50 for a licensed copy. 😎
