Hello, I have same problem now the chip won't turn off the theft light at times. Do you have a video to resolve that problem please?
Unbelievable. Wht is wrong with this generation. If u have a key with a chip that works why would you buys 3 dollar key and put the good key in dash? Makes no sense. What’s gonna happen when the chip goes out ? That 3 dollar key is not going to work. No common sense at all.

Yeah I have what's left of the chip key taped over the steering column and dangling next to my ignition after smashing it to bits. Tried a punch on the metal part of key to drill a hole so I could put on a Keychain. Wrong thing to do.

You know you are just making it simple and easy for a screwdriver pounded into your ignition and turn it to start the vehicle for anybody to steal your s***…..
Ok, but what if you got just 1 key? Plus the chip in the key is "dead "? Then what? Tow to Ford dealership? For new key,& programming? Expensive tow bill,& parts,& labor costs.

what do u do if you lost the transponder chip key …only have the metal key …plastic broke off and its lost

What if I don't have the old key and just replaced the ignition lock cylinder in a 2003 expiditon now is asking for the old key to program?????
Usefull until someone steals your car
You can buy a transponder key on ebay for your car cheap, have the key cut at a local locksmith that cuts key's, then follow this link for FORDS to program them yourself in seconds
