  1. With Sand Attack in play here, couldn’t the opponent miss Struggle and take recoil damage? Does Struggle not check for accuracy? Do they not take recoil damage if they miss?

  2. Since this soft lock was done on Pokemon Sapphire there still is one way to get out of this soft lock. If you have Pokemon Colosseum for Game Cube you could set it up where you would receive Jirachi. Then you'd have the ability to get past the youngster trainer. However, this soft lock pick method does only work for Ruby and Sapphire and not Emerald. So if you would have done all of the other steps in this soft lock on Emerald there wouldn't be a way to undue this soft lock other than start a new game.

  3. Steps:
    1. Play until Route 116 on one save file (Ruby or Sapphire)
    2. Catch Nincada.
    3. Train Nincada to Level 25 and delay evolution to learn moves that can’t knock out Pokemon.
    4. Get your second game.
    5. Play until you get the Pokedex and 2 Pokemon.
    6. Remove items after getting all items possible at that point.
    7. Trade the Shedninja to the 2nd game.
    8. Release all Pokemon except Shedninja.
    9. Save the game.

  4. Probably the best softlock ever, at least in Pokemon. Unlike a level 5 Magikarp or level 3 Caterpie, both of which just get KO'd by anything they see, Shedinja can't even do that right. It has to put up a hopeless fight first. The ultimate purgatory.

  5. Is Gen 1 2 and 3 the only games he dives into for pokemon? He just desp dives these games that hard? Why not try some of the newer games for softlocking?

  6. “I wanna be the very worst, like nobody in their right mind ever was”

“To trash save files is my real test, to escape them is my cause”

“I will travel through every gen, soft locking far and wide”

“Teach Pokemon to understand in my brain there’s nothing inside”

“Save files! Gotta ruin them all (even more than 3). I know it’s my destiny!”

“Trash save files! Oh, here is the end. This save file needs a mend.”

“Trash save files! Gotta trash them all (freshly trashed for you). Our dumbness will not give us much else to do.

“You help me and I’ll release you. Trash save files!”

“Gotta trash them all (gotta trash them all)”

    “Trash save files!”

  7. Couldn't you drain your pp and then use struggle on the Zigzagoon? Struggle would kill Shedinga but the trainer would be beaten.

  8. Genuinely insane take at the end that it's a failing of gamefreak not to have found this softlock and patched it out. Unintentional softlocks are the problem, you'd never do this in 1000 years unless you meant to and it has basically zero consequence

  9. the only way i see nintendo actualy fixing situations like these is if they would just make forgotten moves go into a list which is accesible at all times so you can edit ur moves on the fly to what ur situation needs would also give the games a lot more depth at the same time in my honest opinion because instead of grinding levels to beat certain challenges the game throws at you you could for example maybe just edit some of your pokemons moves and get by it trough that
