  1. The Sparrows tweezers are super nice ( I have a pair myself ), but why include them in an EDC pick set? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Maybe an extractor instead?

  2. We always love that you review pick sets and tools that we see all the time but don't have coverage on social media. If you want to see the controller in action, our lastest episode of The Master Of Unlocking has us repining locks with these tools. We will feature this video in the next episode.

  3. I like the set a lot, it's got a lot of the tools that I would want to have for an EDC, but I would have a 0.050 knurled flat bar (maybe a couple smaller ones as well) instead of the twisted wrenches and my favorite tool is the offset hybrid, which I find to be the most versatile. I would have it replace the shallow hook because I find that between the offset hybrid and the half diamond I don't really need it.

The double peak and the snake rake are the rakes I use most frequently, so I like their inclusion and the deep hook is necessary sometimes, so I like it being there as well. Overall, it looks like a great product and something I'd be happy with if I were just starting out.

  4. Nice review, not sure I've seen anyone else check this one out. I'm not sure this one's for me but it's got quite a bit to make it a decent EDC. TOK's would be my first add, then a couple more hooks that I use on the regular.

  5. Changes for the Controller Set:
    1. Wiper Tension Wrenches? Six of them? How about a nested set of 3 Piano Wire tensioners and 3 Wiper Inserts.
    2. No Necklace Tag, Stickers, or sew-on patches? 🙁
    3. Tweezers? For smoking a joint I guess… In which case a small empty tube in the kit would help. And chocolate too.
    4. Sparrows would do well to add Credit Card flashlights to some kits. They are cheap, light, and thin.
    5. Glow-In-The-Dark plastic shim-sheets should be in almost every Sparrows pocket set. They could print their logo and other information on them.
    6. Sparrows could start adding Magnetic Viewing sheets app. 1"x2" for magnetic field detection. Thin, cheap, and light.
    7. The coolest addition I am planning (but have not done yet) is to add a Tritium Kit Marker tube in the top fold inside the pouch. That way whenever I pull the pouch out and open it there is a tiny light at the top of the picks. No particular reason other than to go all J. Bond on the thing! 😀

  6. Nice vid ive just started picking and so far impressed with my Sparrows Dark Stealth so much so ive ordered a Tuxedo Royal aswell :). Great to see honest reviews, I have a very small budget for hobbies so its important that what i spend my cash on is good not crap, also so jealous of your Blag Flag kit i cant seem to find anywhere in the UK 🙂

  7. In all of these kits I add a piece of Nano-Plastic cut to a width that fits in the case and longer than the picks by about 1.5"
Make a score across the width about the length of a pick and fold the plastic over. Slide the plastic behind the picks and
fold the end of the plastic sheet over the pick tips. This keeps the pick pouch form, prevents pick stabs (such as in a fall etc),
and is available as a door shim etc. Sparrows has a glow in the dark plastic sheet which would be great for covert applications.
