  1. I had a 2020 F150 work truck for a bit that had keyless style entry. It was so finnicky. More than half of the time it would not open when I grabbed the handle. I am surprised how badly all these digital convenience features perform on vehicles.

  2. TOYOTA FAILED ITS CUSTOMERS!!
I'm on my fourth Toyota truck, and this is my last. I won't drive unreliable turbos that are expensive to fix when they go bad. The reviews and blogs say it all. 🤮
BRING BACK THE V8 IN THE TUNDRA & BRING BACK THE V6 IN THE TACOMA!! 🤬

  3. Android has a security feature that sleeps apps. I forget where it is. But a buddy of mine found it and fixed his issue with his digital key. Not sure that you are having the same issue though. It was putting some features of the app to sleep but not the whole app.

  4. All the technology is too much for me. I like old school Key start, and much smaller screen. The 4 banger Turbo won’t last as long as the v6 either. The best motor the Taco ever had was the 4.0.

  5. Ya I use to have Rangers too!, but they never made 4 dr so went to Tacoma! Also found out how great Tacoma resale is compared to the 3 Rangers I had! Wow what a difference! Love my 2020 TRD OR prem. my 08 TRD OR was great truck too with no issues. The Toyota app on my phone doesn't open or start truck unless I press Botton on app but maybe because I'm in Canada! New TRD OR jumped 12k over my 2020 so I will keep mine thats paid off! Nice truck! Like your colour choice, silver easy to keep clean same as mine. Red was nice but harder to keep clean.

  6. Looking to get a Trailhunter from Pueblo or Colorado Springs Toyota when available. Have a 2017 Pro right now. Will be very interested to follow you and also see a new 2024 in person.

  7. Congrats on the new truck. I'm waiting on the hybrid version. I do have a question , if you have the auto tailgate , is it possible to deactivate it so it won't drop unless manually done? I'll have a Leer bed cap , if the tailgate deploys unintentionally with the cap door closed and locked it would likely damage the cap door.

  8. Glad you like it but when i saw one in person i was not a fan. Looked very cheap to me. I was excited to shop for one but wasn't impressed.

  9. Sounds like a Toyota dealership scam to get you to use the app more so the dealership gets paid when you use their app. Just saying 🤷🏻‍♂️

  10. Thanks for such great content, it’s always so helpful. I had a ‘98 Ranger for 253K miles and really miss it. I ordered a 2024 TRD PreRunner in Celestial Silver but so far only 5 (seriously, FIVE!) have been built to date and there’s no ETA from my dealer. I really want a 6 foot bed so may have to go with the SR5 instead. Kind of frustrating to say the least.

  11. I'm going to hang on to my 2023 Tacoma for a few years… I am sure the new Tacoma will be fine, but I'll let other people work out all the problems first. I test drove a 2024 SR5 for fun. They are really nice, but the 2023 is still really nice too. Enjoy the new ride!

  12. Nice video. You're the first I've seen that's really talking about the little details that matter to me (and I've watched a lot of these videos). I have a TRD OR on order (celestial silver for the win, although I'm going with the 6' bed) with the upgrade package (not the premium). I'm also planning to build it out for overlanding. I had a '99 Ford Ranger for 17 years before buying my current '16 GMC Canyon, so we have much in common.

Reading the owner's manual I notice the 400w AC only puts out full power in neutral or park. When the truck is in drive it's limited to 100w, which is going to be frustrating. I'm curious if that's how it actually works. I was initially excited since I thought I could charge my EcoFlow while driving but it appears it's no better than using the cig lighter power.

As for Android Auto, I'm assuming you're using it in wireless mode? I'm curious if it is more reliable when wired, but then another frustrating thing is that it appears the only connectivity is the port on the side of the screen, which means a cord hanging down from the dash. The other USB C ports appear to only be for charging. Again, that seems like a poor choice. Is there another data port anywhere, say in the center storage console?

And one last thing. The three accessory switches. The manual shows where the ends are located but I'm curious if there's a pre-installed plug w/wires that you can splice into or if we're going to have to try and find the proper connector somewhere else?

Subscribed and looking forward to future updates!

  13. I don't use the app. For what? I had it on my Fords, never used it. As soon as I started getting notifications on my phone that was the first no-no. Also, TPMS never match what I aired the tires too. If I want to remote start it, I will use the key to do it. I used the app to turn off the rear seat crap. Other than that, the vehicle has all the tech I want except the 360 cameras. This Truck would be an all time-keeper, maybe, but for this money, they have to replace that HARD plastic all around with some soft stuff.

  14. Hey Ben, great content and thanks for the videos. So far I like the stuff you have done on the Tacoma and what you have planned. The snow ride should be great and I am looking forward to the new tires video. Keep up the good work and I will make some suggestion after watching a couple more videos. More content faster, just kidding I know it takes time to create the content.

  15. Maybe I’m just old fashioned. But my phone doesn’t exist when I drive my car. I just focus on the road, lol. One less little bit of technology to worry about working or not.

  16. I’d like to hear your thoughts on ride quality and seat comfort in that premium package. I do allot of really long road trips, wondering if the premium package seats are worth the extra cost.

  17. Hello again. I too had a Ranger for 13 years! My "upgrade" was my ZR2. Your Tacoma looks great! I look forward to more videos of what you do with it. Keep them coming!

  18. Good looking truck you got there.

The App is okay, the alerts can bug the fire out of you but you can turn a lot of them off under Account > Notifications. I recall when I got my 23 there was also delays in getting notifications. Today, I was at dealership for 5k and didnt get any alerts I had turned on. The truck has a sim in it for connecting to a cell network, so maybe delays there or just buggy issues.

What are your thoughts on PPF vs Ceramic?

    How about tint? Any plans?

When will you do your 1st oil change? Or will you take to dealership.

How does it sound? I understand there is noise pumped in through the sound system? Is that true, and if so, can it be turned off?

Looking forward to your take after some time of ownership and how you plan to build it out.

    Enjoy the new truck..
