…because sometimes it’s quicker than trying to find the key!

This is an old, old method of popping tubular locks, but as you can see even locks made within the last few years, such as the Kensington MicroSaver shown here, are vulnerable.

  1. Somehow a relative misaligned the notches on a tubular lock. It was impossible to insert the key and actuate the lock due to the misalignment. I had tried this once before and it did not work. After attempting other lock pick strategies on a Sentry locking fireproof box with tubular lock I tried the method again. It enabled me to realign the tubular lock notches so that I could once again use the key. Thanks for the help.

  2. I was trying to open a tubular lock on an old hard drive 5.25" removable caddy. It was too small for any of my pens. I ended up using a drywall anchor that I trimmed the flange off of. Thanks!

  3. Omg! What a great tip. Payed $50 for a lost key and combo to sentry master lock. The replacement key they sent still did not work after they confirmed it was the correct key. At a loss, I came across this video and it took me 30 seconds to pop the tubular lock with a straw! I’m back in business! Thank you much!

  4. Couldn't find the exact pen size so I found a pen that had a thin sleeve around it, sliced the sleeve longwise, slipped around the tubular lock and in less than 20 seconds had it opened!! You're the man ABAC!!
